Father's Day 2012

Hubby always says he doesn't really care about celebrating Father's Day for himself.  So we didn't do anything really big but the kids prepared some gifts for him.  He wasn't expecting anything, so he was genuinely surprised and I think secretly he enjoyed being celebrated and acknowledged on this day. : )

"L" presented Dad with a gift that he made in school.  It was a paper weight rock that he decorated and tied with a little tag that says, "You Rock!"

For the longest time hubby has been asking for some framed pictures that he can put on his desk at work so we fulfilled that request.

Lastly, I helped the kids create a personalized book for Dad through Tikatok.  This is a really cute way to make your kids a published author.  I like how they have different templates that can be edited.  I used one of the dad-themed templates and asked the kids several questions and filled in the blanks with their answers.

Here's a page sample to give you an idea of what you can do with the book.  You can also add pictures and images consistent with the template.

There's even an "About the Author" section on the very back of the book.  Such a cute idea!
