First some celebrity sightings...My husband had some deep questions as to what pluto thinks of goofy e.g. with disdain or jealousy, and why Walt Disney would make mickey's pet a dog when he already humanized mice, dogs, ducks and crickets. Apparently, this has bothered hubby for a long time : )
What Disneyland trip would be complete without a pair of Minnie Mouse ears...

I'm a big proponent of arriving at any amusement park as soon as it opens in the morning to avoid the lines. Even just 2 hours later, the waits were noticeably longer. Before our trip I printed out a map of the park and marked all the rides that I knew both kids could ride together. This was actually really informative because otherwise I would have just started at the front and worked our way around. In actuality, a lot of the toddler sized rides were in the back so we headed straight there.

Right before Mickey's Soundsational Parade started, we strategically found a nice shaded spot where the parade started and watched all our favorite Disney characters pass by.
Time for a family photo.
We went back to the hotel for dinner and returned to the park to watch the fireworks. It was nice to escape the crowds for a relaxing dinner. We stayed at the Hilton which was really close to Disneyland but it would still have been quite a walk for the kids. So we used the Anaheim Resort Transit, which picked us up right at our hotel and dropped us off right inside the park. It was super easy and convenient.
