Fourth of July

This Fourth of July we made a trip down to VA for a little family reunion.  As always, our trips down are jam-packed but fun-filled.

In the morning the kids enjoyed some play time with the paternal grandmother.

Then we were off to visit my younger sister and her hubby in their new home.  They treated us to some burgers from Burger7.   Gotta say it was impossible trying to gracefully eat that double patty loaded with hot peppers, fried egg, pickles, tomato, lettuce, sandwiched between 2 fresh baked buns.  But it sure was good as were the onion rings.

My funny older sister had brought down some medieval dress up gear that she thought L would enjoy.  He really did get a kick out of it all weekend!  If you're wondering why she even owns stuff like this, it's for her homeschool curriculum.

For Sunday lunch, we had a BBQ with some gi-normous shrimp, garlic roasted chicken, asparagus, avocado salad and strawberry pie.

We were back in the dining room just hours later for dinner, this time Korean style.  I tried to grill the meat outdoors but thunder started rumbling and it was so windy a melanine plate blew away and broke!  My mom prepared kalbi, 2 kinds of fish, and an assortment of vegetable dishes.  Thanks mom!

The kids enjoyed some time with the maternal side of the family before heading back home.

We didn't do any fireworks this year, but it was still great fun for everyone!
