Winter Walk of Lights

I love Christmastime...the lights, the music, the decorations.  This year on a weekend trip to VA, we got to visit the Meadowlark Botanical Gardens with some friends for Winter Walk of Lights.  I've been to several drive through light shows but this was my first walk through one.  And, what made it particularly amazing was the weather--it had hit 71 degrees earlier that day, right in the middle of winter!  So coat-free we got to enjoy a lovely, evening stroll with good friends, lights, music and roasting marshmallows!

One of the highlights was a light show synchronized to holiday songs.  It was nice to sit back in some chairs and enjoy the music and show.

At the end of the walk, there was a big fire pit where we roasted marshmallows.  The kids loved it, and I gotta admit I too love toasty marshmallows with oozy centers.

This Botanical Garden also has a Korean Bell Garden with trees and shrubs native to Korea, as well as, replicas of ancient Korean monuments and statues. We'll definitely have to visit again in the future during the day time to check it out.
