Halloween...Not as Planned, Part 2

So, this unexpected snow storm that came through our area did quite some damage causing falling trees and branches to pull down many power lines.  Our church was affected and had no expectation of having its power restored for several days.  Unfortunately, the church and many volunteers had been tirelessly planning a huge Hallelujah Bash for the kids on Halloween with games, prizes, food etc.  The morning of Halloween, I received a call from hubby that the Bash was officially cancelled.  I knew "L" would be disappointed, along with several of his little buddies, and figured we could put on our own little, last-minute, Hallelujah Bash at our house.  So after picking up my son from school we made a mad dash for Party City, which was a mad house, and 3 hours later this is what we came up with.  And many thanks to the friends who supplied the drinks, wings and special treats!

It's nearly impossible to get one good group photo of toddlers.  This is the best I could do and even so, 2 are missing.

Cute Owl Pinata
I love these string pinatas because 1. they're not violent and 2. even the youngest of the bunch can participate.  I don't know how it happened, but literally the last pull string opened the pinata!  I love it when it happens that way and every kid gets to pull a few strings before the pinata opens.  The suspense is riveting.  Our pinata came with it's own, well-dressed, male pinata holder : )

I'm looking over at my dining room now and the lanterns are still hanging, the balloons are starting to fall, cups labeled with names and pizza crust crumbs are calling out to be cleaned up.  But alas, I'd rather savor the fun memories of the night and leave the mess for tomorrow.
