Ringing in 2012 With Kids

Ever since having kids, new years celebrations have been fairly quiet, consisting of one or both of us at church or in front of the tv.  Generally, I dont make it until midnight anyways, so ringing in the new year is pretty anticlimactic.

But this year we got in a little fun for both the kids and the grownups.  We started the morning at KidsU where my kids take classes.  Luckily we were able to sign up for the party before it filled up because Kevin and his staff put on a fabulous party for the kids.  The party included supervised play in their facilities, free pizza, a count down complete with hats and noisemakers and a nice big pinata to wrap it all up.  The kids absolutely had a blast!  Sidenote: I totally love KidsU, especially the anytime playquad access.
After naps all around, we went to Turtleback Zoo for their holiday light display with our family friends.  We had enough time to circle the zoo twice to view the lights, ride the carousel, and see some of the nocturnal animals before heading home for the next activity.

Finally, later in the evening we headed over to a friend's house where we rung in the new year in the company of some good friends.  Our kids fell asleep enroute and stayed asleep at their house allowing us to enjoy some adult conversation!

What a great way to start off the new year in the company of family and friends!  Happy New Year!
